This book kept me turning the pages for more. The attention to detail in every situation was simply awesome. Kept my brain engaged trying to keep up with all that was happening. Well written!!
perfect cure for insomnia.
This book is a great start to what I hope will be a long series! Peach immerses you in the desolation of small town Midwest and takes you on quite a ride. His style is snappy, imaginative and never stale, and although I groaned a couple times I was definitely chuckling too.
Enjoyed this book thoroughly and hope that Mr. Peach will be coming out with a second volume in the near future.
This private eye anti-hero gets wrapped up in a bigger midwestern crime racket, with dames getting knocked off, keyed-up rookie cops getting their come-uppence, and a priest holding it down in a city that has shrunk into what resembles a western boom-turned-ghost town. Raw, trenchant, satisfying like a fine bourbon on the rocks, the only problem is Indiana has set me up like a stool pigeon I have to wait for volume 2 before I can quaff more of his damn fine prose.
